Pricing
Priced per site. Scales per MW.
Every plan includes the full console, unlimited history views and the query API. What changes as you grow is the connectors, the retention and how you're billed — per site while you're building a portfolio, per megawatt once you're running a fleet.

Questions
The fine print, in plain terms.
What counts as a “site”?
A site is one point of interconnection — typically a single metered facility such as a solar array, a storage installation, a substation feeder or an EV depot. The number of inverters, strings, racks or chargers behind that meter doesn't change the price. If you co-locate solar and storage behind one meter, that's still one site.
Do you charge extra for telemetry volume or data points?
No. Ingest is unlimited on every plan — sample as fast as your hardware allows, down to 1-second resolution, without watching a meter. We'd rather you collect the signal than throttle it to save money. What differs between plans is how long that data stays queryable at full resolution.
Which inverters and protocols do you support?
Voltwell speaks Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, SunSpec and plain REST/MQTT, with 42 tested device drivers covering the common string and central inverters, BMS vendors and revenue meters. If your device isn't in the library yet, the edge collector maps raw registers to the Voltwell tag model — send us a register map and we'll add a driver.
How does per-MW pricing work on Enterprise?
Above roughly 250 sites or 250 MW, per-site pricing stops making sense, so we bill on nameplate capacity under management instead — a flat rate per MW that steps down as the fleet grows. Storage is counted on power rating (MW), not energy (MWh). We'll quote a blended rate once we know your mix of solar, storage and charging.
Can we run Voltwell in our own VPC or on-prem?
Yes, on Enterprise. We deploy the ingest and console tier into your AWS, Azure or GCP account, or fully air-gapped on-prem for critical infrastructure. The edge collector runs on-site in every deployment regardless of plan, so telemetry never has to leave the plant unbuffered.
Is there a trial, and how long does onboarding take?
Onboarding is invite-only while we bring fleets on one at a time. Once you're approved, most operators have their first site streaming within about three days — the edge collector auto-discovers Modbus devices, and our team helps map the first plant so the rest of the fleet follows the same template.
Not sure which plan fits your fleet?
Tell us what you operate and we'll map it to a plan — and show you exactly what your sites would look like in the console.
